Create a Brand Name you will want to Acclaim

Starting a business? How exciting. The opportunities and possibilities are endless. If your business plan has been in the pipeline for a while now, chances are you have had a lot of time to consider important decisions and ideas. From logo design to colour scheme to your brand name, there is a lot to consider and it is important to get it right in the initial stages of development.

Brand Name: Instant success?

Particularly when it comes to brand name choice, there can be great pressure to choose the correct name. In some situations, people have a name in mind from the get go, making the decision very simple and straightforward. This can work out wonderfully in some cases, but all organisations are not as lucky.

In some cases, quickly choosing a name in the initial stages of development can be a risky decision. If the correct time and consideration isn’t afforded to developing a meaningful and expressive brand name, there could be difficulties.

The importance of your brand name

The name is a hugely impactful element of your organisation. Customers, clients, stakeholders etc. will use your brand name to refer to your organisation in discussions and will eventually begin using it as an associative term. To ensure your brand is represented, it is important that your name showcases what your organisation has to offer, connecting with your vision, purpose and goals.

In order to create a brand name that your organisation will be proud of for years to come, it is advised that you involve the skills and expertise of a graphic design and branding studio. Even if you have had a proposed name in the works for as long as you can remember, it is beneficial to consider the creative ideas that may arise from collaborative brainstorming.

Create a name that represents your brand

When creating a brand name, it is important to consider much more than simply what sounds good. It is crucial that your name represents your brand and what is has to offer. For example; if you are an organisation that sells clothes, it is important that your name expresses this clearly and instantly.

Straightforward brand names are crucial

During the brand name mind-mapping process, it is important to always consider the customer and their opinion. In order for your name to be successful, it must be straightforward, understandable, readable and pronounceable.

Conduct consumer research

When making a significant brand decision, it can be considered beneficial to incorporate some consumer research prior to making a final decision. The formality of the consumer research is not necessary in all cases, you could simply conduct research through involving numerous different peers and associates to gather their thoughts and opinions.

The involvement of external opinions will massively benefit your decision as those who are not connected to the brand or the proposed name will likely develop opinions and ideas surrounding it. These external thoughts are important to consider as they could potentially represent the opinions of the general public.

Will your brand name work on social media?

In the modern day, it is crucial to consider the online effects and potential implications when making any brand decision. We are living in an era where online platforms such as websites and social media are potentially the most important feature for your brand. Hence, when deciding on a name, it is important to consider online usage before making a final choice.

A particularly important area to consider when choosing a name is social media representation. To ensure your brand will have a successful experience on socials, it is advised that you explore the available usernames and guarantee that there are not any other brands using the same or similar name.

Conducing this prior research will be beneficial in many ways, allowing online users to find your brand quickly and easily, as well as avoiding any complications with an unrecognisable username.

Additionally, it is advised that organisations research their name on the website front, ensuring they are able to purchase a website that represents their brand name clearly. Website names have become extremely saturated and similarly to social media handles, it is important to choose a name that will allow your organisation to have a website address that is recognisable and easily accessible.

Mobile Design: More Important Now Than Ever

Once upon a time, websites were created to be viewed on a computer screen. The design was simple, straightforward and the same for all. Fast forward to now, a computer screen is primarily used during working hours and have a typical power down time of 5.30pm.

Gone are the days when we had to turn on our desktop or laptop to visit a website. We are living in the digital age, where website habits have transformed and the demand for mobile design has massively increased.

You Snooze, You Lose

When it comes to designing a website, it is natural to place importance on the desktop design in the initial stages. At the end of the day, potential customers, clients and stakeholders who visit your website, are likely to do so on a desktop. However, in the process of website design, it is crucial to place consideration on the mobile users and develop a mobile design that is quick, easy and convenient to navigate.

Many organisations make a big mistake when it comes to website design. Once the desktop version of the site is complete, there is a sense of relaxation and this can result in a delay in the mobile design implementation. This in itself is extremely detrimental for your website.

According to Oberlo, there has been a massive surge in mobile device website traffic. In 2022, over 57% of online traffic comes directly from a mobile device, that is an incomprehensible increase of 48% in 10 years, as it was at a mere 9% in 2012. With this information in mind, it is undisputable the power and importance of mobile design when it comes to creating a website.

Online users place a huge importance on first impressions, particularly when visiting a website on their mobile device. If the website design is not mobile friendly, you leave yourself open to the risk that they develop a negative opinion of your site and fail to give it a second chance in the future.

Desktop Design: A Mobile Users Nightmare

There is nothing quite as annoying as trying to navigate a desktop design squeezed onto a mobile screen. Not only do you require intense concentration to ensure you are clicking the correct page, but you also have to work unnecessarily hard to read the content and discover what you are looking for.

Desktop design becomes completely compromised when forced to reduce onto a mobile screen. Yes, your website design might be out of this world, but if it does not have a mobile design feature, the brilliance of this is somewhat instantaneously lost.

What makes a great Mobile Design?

Mobile design is often considered to be a simplified version of your desktop design website. As the device you will be using to navigate the website is considerably smaller, this must be considered and the amount of information displayed on one screen should be significantly reduced.

The goal with mobile design is convenience and easy navigation. When people search online through their mobile device, they are usually not sitting down to conduct a lengthy period of research. The more likely scenario is a quick, simple and speedy search.

When searching on a desktop version of a website, the user has likely a longer timeframe to afford to the website itself. Yet, those who search for a website on their mobile device aim to find information at a fast pace. Hence, it is advised that the mobile version of a website is simplified, leaving out any unnecessary details.

When creating a mobile design, it is also advised to include the call to actions in large, eye-catching displays. For example, if your call to action on a particular page is to ‘Call Today’ this button should be visibly larger and noticeable to the use. Additionally, it is important to consider that mobile users are scrolling using their finger, instead of a mouse or trackpad. With this in mind, mobile design must ensure that all touchpoints are easily clickable by finger or thumb.

Pitch Perfect with Pitch Deck Design

Pitch deck design is an extremely important tool in the business world. When it comes to investments, it is crucial to have a showstopping pitch deck design to capture the attention of potential investors, partners and stakeholders.

We now live in a world where it takes a lot to impress. Advanced technology and our accessibility to that has massively impacted how we view digital content and projects. It now takes considerably more to excite an audience and in order to excel in a business pitch, this is essential.

Pitch deck design: explained

A pitch deck design is a useful tool used by organisations who are aiming to advance their position in the business world. A pitch deck is usually utilised to showcase a particular area within your business that requires funding to evolve or prosper. The overall goal of a pitch deck design is primarily to achieve a financial investment from potential stakeholders.

The design of your pitch deck is extremely important. As previously mentioned, it is crucial to create an exciting and innovative design in order to achieve the attention deserved. Typically, we would recommend no more than 15 slides in total. Remaining within the 12-15 slide maximum will allow you to deliver a user-friendly, informative and engaging presentation, without overwhelming or appearing tedious to viewers.

When aiming to achieve an investment, it is paramount that your design places a significant importance on speaking directly to the investor. It is important that the investor generates an in-depth understanding of your organisation, your plans, visions and goals.

Deliver a pitch deck design to remember

When it comes to delivering a pitch deck design, the content is undoubtedly the most important element to be delivered. Yet, the way in which this content is delivered is equally significant. The design implemented within your pitch deck is key.

An organisation that portrays utmost professionalism will be viewed in high regard. The level of competence that is displayed in a pitch will represent and mirror your potential to investors and play a considerable role in their decision to capitalise or not.

There are numerous different platforms in which pitch decks can be created on. From InDesign to PowerPoint to Keynote, no matter the device or software, there is a platform available to create an incredible presentation.

Digital or Printed?

Digital is king. When we think of a pitch, we picture an individual standing in front of a digital presentation and delivering it to a room of potential investors. In more recent times, a pitch may be commonly delivered across virtual platforms, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Yet, in order to ensure you observe all possible needs and preferences, it is important to consider the traditional print version of your pitch deck.

Pitch Perfect Pictures

Pitch deck design aims to deliver a presentation and convince potential stakeholders that your organisation is worth investing in. In order to achieve this outcome, it is important to deliver an engaging pitch that is exciting, informative and not overwhelming.

Text can be terrifying if there is too much of it. Yes, providing a detailed document of data can be informative but it will also appear boring, disengaging and difficult to take in. It is advised that a brilliant pitch deck design will showcase a blend of visualisations to break up the important and interesting text, facts and figures.

The involvement of pictures is an innovative way to deliver information in a more digestible manner, potentially through coloured graphs, images and graphics. Incorporating visualisations in your pitch deck will also engage with viewers and hopefully leave a lasting impression and create a memorable association.

Pitch Deck Design at Kaizen Brand Evolution

As pitch deck design is an extremely important area for your organisation and its future success, it is advised that you involve a professional graphic design team in the process.

Re-branding for Summer

We now live in a fast-paced environment, where everything is changing constantly. Everyone can update their profiles with the click of a button, changing their profile picture, their interests and their engagements instantaneously. We have become very comfortable with our ever-changing and evolving personal branding. Hence, it is important to make sure we keep up with the instantaneous society within our business branding.

Remaining consistent with the ever-evolving trends is a full-time job in itself. Yet, doing so is very beneficial for organisations. When starting a business, the first thing the majority of organisations do is create their branding. An organisation relies on their brand to showcase what they have to offer, what they represent and the personality of their business.

We all start somewhere. We also all aim to evolve, grow and surpass expectations. In most situations, organisations start small, with the goal of someday expanding into something bigger and better.

Has your Organisation Evolved?

Over time, organisations change, hopefully for the better. In certain situations, these brands outgrow what was once their core brand concept and require a change to represent their evolution. Brand identity is a key concept for organisations and this must remain up-to-date.

Whether your organisation has grown in size, taken on a new direction or simply feels that a revamp would be a beneficial implementation. If done correctly, a business re-brand can be a revolutionary transformation, enhancing your organisation’s brand exposure, recognition and awareness.

Flex your Flexibility by Re-Branding

Over the course of the pandemic, we have all had to become adaptable to many different, unpreceded circumstances. As professionals, it is undoubtable that we have all become extremely flexible, taking on tasks that a mere two years ago we wouldn’t have dreamed of.

Has your organisation adapted to change through evolving the products or services offered? If so, why not showcase this in a company re-brand. From remote working, to the introduction of brand-new services, it is important to showcase these in our brand identity and to generate the recognition deserved for the hard work and resilience shown.

Over the last two years, organisations worldwide have overcome extraordinary complications. Through dedication and perseverance, many organisations have come out the other end with a more productive, efficient and satisfied workforce. Many may discover that their initial brand image and company focus is no longer relevant due to their new ventures and evolution. It is important to take advantage of your company achievements and introduce this into your branding.

Compete with Competitors

Now more than ever, it is important to stand out from the crowd. Industries are becoming more and more saturated and the ability to excel is becoming more difficult.

To break through the competitive industry saturation, your organisation must have an individuality to it and this must be evident in your branding. We have all heard it, a unique selling point is necessary to come out on top. This has never been more important.

To guarantee a robust brand reputation in the industry, it is imperative to get ahead of the curve. Overtaking competitors requires careful consideration, constant evolution and carefully curated re-branding.

A re-brand to showcase your unique selling point, as well as your competitive edge above similar organisations will safeguard your relationships with existing clients, customers and stakeholders. Additionally, re-branding may target new customers who are intrigued by your distinctive brand identity and updated offerings.

How to Implement an A* Advertising Design

Advertising is an extremely important promotional tool for organisations large and small. Whether your product or service is highly regarded in society, or brand new to the market, advertising design is crucial in order to generate the recognition and admiration deserved.

Advertising offers widespread prospects for businesses, across numerous sectors and industries. From traditional print advertising through newspapers, posters, billboards to modern, digital advertising through social media, websites and online advertisements, the opportunities are endless.

When beginning an advertising campaign, it is important to take a step back and complete a thorough and comprehensive mind mapping session. When creating an advertising design, regardless of the scale or size of the project, it is imperative to ensure everything is implemented successfully, ensuring organisation reputation is maintained, brand identity is boosted and the desired promotion is achieved.

At the end of the day, advertising design is what customers, competitors, stakeholders and clients see when you are promoting your product. This exposure will lead individuals to generate opinions towards your organisation and it is crucial that the best possible outcome is achieved to guarantee success. To safeguard your business reputation throughout an advertising campaign it is paramount to ensure the right message is portrayed at every step of the process, through considered design and implementation.

Traditional Advertising Design through Print Media

As previously outlined, advertising campaigns take numerous different forms, from traditional to modern, to online and offline. When we think of advertising, we often go straight to the traditional concept, including posters, flyers, direct mail and billboards. These traditional methods of advertising design are crucial in order to generate exposure for your organisation offline.

There are widespread benefits to traditional media that are often disregarded by those who idolise the digital, instantaneous advertising opportunities. Yes, undoubtedly digital advertising is an incredible tool for promotion but the power of print media is not to be overlooked.

The Benefits of Traditional Advertising

Print advertising is a unique tool for organisations to take advantage of, wherein the published material holds a lasting impression through permanent print. Be it a poster on a busy street, or an advertisement in a newspaper, it is not going anywhere (until it is removed that is). Unlike digital advertising, print media will linger in the view of consumers for a considerable period of time. Digital media relies on an instantaneous algorithm wherein it pops up on your screen and with a quick refresh, you may never see it again.

Additionally, we have become accustomed to receiving emails and notifications on our devices and this has unfortunately resulted in a sense of disregard and disinterest in some cases. When it comes to receiving communication, the roles have certainly reversed. Once upon a time, individuals scorned at the sight of a direct mail letter arriving in their letterbox and revelled at the opportunity to open an email. Whereas now, many appear disassociated with their overflowing email inbox and take more interest in their infrequent delivery of direct mail.

Finally, there is something so magical about print media. The design, the colours, the finish are all elements that catch our attention whilst out and about. Whether we notice a billboard whilst driving on a busy motorway, or we catch sight of a poster in a shop window, or we come into possession of a business flyer whilst walking through the city centre. There is something so special about eye-catching, innovative advertising design. If implemented correctly, it can obtain a widespread reach and lasting impression amongst the public.

Modern Advertising Design through Digital Media

We are now well and truly living in the digital age. We are completely reliant on electronic devices for almost all of our everyday activities. It is important that organisations take advantage of this digital craze and implement a robust and consistent advertising campaign.

The advantages that come with promotion through digital platforms are massively advantageous for organisations large and small. From affordability to widespread reach, with an impactful advertising design, the opportunities are endless.

The Benefits of Digital Advertising

Digital advertising is an extremely powerful tool when it comes to promotion. If implemented correctly, it can have an incomprehensible reach, all at an affordable cost.

A massive advantage of digital advertising is that in some situations, it is free. Yes, there is an element of sponsorship and promotion that requires investment and this is strongly advised in order to achieve the deserving reach for your firm. Yet, the use of free digital services is not to be disregarded and a simple post on social media, if implemented correctly, can excel beyond expectations.

Advertising design promoted through digital platforms also holds an important element of flexibility. In our ever-changing environment, information can change almost instantaneously. In order for your organisation to remain relevant and up-to-date, the use of digital advertising is advised. This will enable a sense of flexibility wherein you can amend advertising design quickly and easily where necessary, when required.

Improve your Annual Report Design every year

An annual report design is an important piece of communication between organisations and their key stakeholders. The annual report is an integral document of information that outlines the functioning of an organisation over a yearly basis. From finances to future forecasts to business operations, an annual report must provide a comprehensive overview of your annual company activities.

Avoid the Overwhelming Annual Report

It must be said, an annual report is a difficult document to produce for organisations. Annual reports have a corporate reputation that is associated with the word ‘overwhelming’. Often considered to be quite text heavy pieces, annual reports are famous for their comprehensive financial data reports and detailed activity documentation. With this in mind, the process of developing an annual report can be a daunting process for organisations.

Overdetailed and poorly designed annual reports can often result in people developing a reluctancy to read and digest the information. Additionally, this information can appear extremely overwhelming for stakeholders and potential investors. With this in mind, it is paramount for organisations to work towards creating an engaging, stimulating and user-friendly annual report, in order to remain competitive and efficient and boost future success.

Advance your Annual Report Design ANNUALLY

When it comes to the success of an organisation, it is anticipated and expected that as time goes on, the business becomes more successful and incidentally, the products and services that they deliver also improve. This is no different when it comes to creating an annual report design. The distribution of an annual report is imminent and each year, stakeholders are likely comparing the design to that of the previous year, in hopes for prosperity and improvement.

Involve the Experts at Kaizen Brand Evolution

In order to catch the attention of your stakeholders and impress with your annual report, it is imperative that the involvement of professional graphic designers is considered.

At Kaizen Brand Evolution, we have widespread experience in creating innovative and engaging annual report designs. Create the Perfect Annual Report Design

In order to design an impressive annual report, it is important to involve the experts. Additionally, it is crucial that there is an element of preparation and planning that goes into the process before delivery. The team at Kaizen Brand Evolution begin the process of creating an annual report design by generating an understanding of an organisation and conducting robust research into the project.

To create an excellent annual report, our team refer to a number of different design concepts to ensure all areas are implemented and represented successfully.

Stick to your Brand Guidelines

The first area we focus on is your organisations brand guidelines. When creating design projects, it is imperative to remain consistent to your agreed brand guidelines in order to maintain and boost brand identity. Brand guidelines include numerous design elements, including your logo, colour palette and language used.

Create a User-Friendly Document

The overall goal of an annual report is to display important company material. With this in mind, it can be a challenging task to know where to stop when it comes to information. When assisting your organisation, the team at Kaizen Brand Evolution will determine the information necessary and utilise the space available to promote a readable and manageable document. Easy to navigate annual report designs are implemented through an organised design, separating information into manageable chunks with engaging and relevant images.

Incorporate the Digital World

In the modern day, it is crucial for organisations to consider and involve digital platforms in all aspects of business. This should be no different with your annual report. At Kaizen Brand Evolution, we recognise the benefits of both print media and digital media. Hence, when creating your annual report design, we have the resources to deliver it in both print and digital formats to ensure all stakeholders receive it in the format they prefer.

Navigate your Festival with Wayfinding Design

Finally… Spring has sprung here at Kaizen Brand Evolution and we cannot wait to see what the season has in store. With the much-anticipated time change at the weekend, we have most definitely blossomed into the Spring time mood.

When we think of Spring and Summer, we associate it with brighter days and exciting activities in beautiful weather. Over the last 2 years, we have unfortunately been robbed of a typical Spring/Summer period due to the pandemic. Festivals, concerts, parties and holidays were all a distant memory that we longed for; in hope they would return some day.

We are finally starting to see the return of our much-awaited Spring/Summer activities and we just cannot wait. With the brief, unanticipated hiatus of social activities, comes a sense of anticipation, as well as a sense of unfamiliarity.

Create a Welcoming Atmosphere

If hosting massive events, such as a concert or a festival, it is massively important that attendees feel welcome and comfortable within their surroundings. It can be extremely difficult for staff members to provide constant navigation at large-scale events, particularly those in the dark. Hence, the implementation of wayfinding design at these events is advised, creating a sense of awareness and navigation for attendees.

Confused at a Concert?

We have all attended large-scale events, such as a concert or festival and as great as they are, they can become overwhelming when it comes to navigation. Whether the event is in a location you are familiar with, or a brand-new setting, the crowds and masses can hinder our sense of direction, as well as our ability to navigate.

Avoid Navigation Frustration

To combat the concert confusion, the employment of wayfinding navigation can be extremely useful. Typically, when people consider navigation signs, they think of arrows or sign posts. Incidentally, the use of typical arrows and signs can cause misinterpretation, confusion and conflict.

When providing navigation, it is crucial to deliver this in an easily interpreted manner, this will not only benefit attendees, it will also assist your staff members in crowd control. Additionally, using a unique wayfinding design will enable you to promote your brand throughout the event location.

What is Wayfinding Design?

Wayfinding design is a massively advantageous tools for organisations, particularly those who are hosting events with unfamiliar attendees. Providing seamless navigation through waypoints, wayfinding design allows individuals to move from point to point to get to their desired destination.

Wayfinding design is much more than a simple sign post or arrow, it is a strategically designed navigation system that takes into consideration the visual and physical clues that assist people through a location without the need for intense and unattractive signage.

The incorporation of wayfinding will boost the experience for attendees, providing an interpretive journey in a pleasant and recognisable manner.

The Branding Perks of Wayfinding Design

When hosting a large-scale event, such as a concert or festival, we place a considerable amount of importance on the branding of the event. From tickets, to presentations to banners at the event, it is all go and important to provide a recognisable experience from start to finish.

In some cases, organisations place all of their focus on the large-scale promotion and forget to implement the more intricate but equally beneficial design tools. When it comes to events and festivals, navigation is an extremely important tool and your attendees will appreciate your consideration of this.

Unfortunately, many event promoters make the impulsive decision to use typical signs and arrows to navigate their location. Undoubtedly organisations like this have missed a trick, failing to recognise the benefits of branded wayfinding design. This lack of consideration can result in confusion within attendees, as well as a missed branding opportunity.

A massive perk when it comes to wayfinding design is that individuals will always be looking for it. Hence, maximise this opportunity and place distinctive branding within the design, you are guaranteed to boost brand identity. Additionally, the incorporation of wayfinding design will position your organisation as a customer focused brand. This showcases that you place consideration on the safety, security and comfort of their audience.
